PRIVACY & TERMS

Who is responsible

Subnetix is a sole-trader business based in Truro, Cornwall, UK and is the data controller for this website. Contact Aiden by [email protected] or 07598 877 831 about privacy or personal information.

Enquiries and project information

When you contact us, we receive the details you submit, such as your name, contact details, business information, project description and any files you attach. We use this to respond, prepare a proposal, deliver requested work, provide support, invoice and keep appropriate business records. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business. If you separately tick the optional marketing box, we use consent to send occasional email updates; you can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

Privacy choices and first-party analytics

Analytics runs only if you choose “Allow analytics and ads”. With that consent, our Netlify-hosted system records visitor and session identifiers, page paths and titles, referring paths, campaign tags, scroll depth, active time, screen and viewport size, link and enquiry-CTA clicks, conversion types, coarse device and browser categories, and coarse location supplied by Netlify. We use it only to understand and improve subnetix.net. Choose “Privacy choices” in the footer at any time to withdraw consent or change your selection; withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

Google Ads measurement

We advertise on Google and use the Google Ads tag to measure which adverts lead to enquiries. The tag is loaded with Google Consent Mode and every storage permission set to denied, so no advertising cookies are set and no advertising identifiers are stored unless you choose “Allow analytics and ads”. If you choose necessary only, Google may still receive a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which it uses for aggregate modelling and which cannot identify you. With consent, Google Ads may set cookies to attribute an enquiry to an advert and to build audiences for remarketing. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing; see the Google Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time from “Privacy choices” in the footer.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measurement

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use the Meta Pixel to measure which adverts lead to enquiries. Meta provides no equivalent of Google's consent mode, so the pixel is not loaded at all unless you choose “Allow analytics and ads”. Choose necessary only and no Meta script is requested, no Meta cookie is set and nothing is sent to Meta — not even a cookieless signal. With consent, the pixel records that a page was viewed and that an enquiry was submitted, and Meta may set cookies to attribute that enquiry to an advert and to build audiences for remarketing. We never send it your name, email address, telephone number or anything you typed into a form. Meta acts as an independent controller for this processing; see the Meta Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time from “Privacy choices” in the footer.

What analytics never contains

We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, messages, uploaded files or other form contents to analytics. Telephone, email and WhatsApp destinations are removed from recorded link data. Our collection function does not read or store IP addresses, and we do not fingerprint visitors. Nothing you type into a form is ever passed to Google or Meta. The site does not use Google Analytics, or any advertising tracker other than the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel described above.

Service providers and international processing

Netlify hosts the website, processes forms and stores private analytics batches; Cloudflare provides DNS, delivery and security services; Google provides the business email account and, with your consent, Google Ads measurement; and Meta Platforms provides, with your consent, Facebook and Instagram advert measurement. These providers act under their own terms and may process information outside the UK. Where UK personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on applicable adequacy regulations or contractual safeguards used by the provider. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required. We do not sell personal information.

Storage and retention

Form information is held in restricted business systems. Private analytics batches are stored in a Netlify Blob store and are accessible only through a token-protected reporting endpoint. Analytics records are retained for up to 12 months. Enquiries that do not become projects are normally deleted after 12 months. Client, contract, invoice and accounting records are normally retained for 6 years where needed for tax, legal or record-keeping obligations. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time. Contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

What you must provide

You do not have to contact us. If you want a reply or proposal, we need enough contact and project information to respond. Fields marked as required are needed to process the form; optional details may be skipped. We do not use solely automated decision-making or profiling to decide whether to work with you.

Change your analytics choice

You can review or change your choice at any time. Choosing necessary only clears Subnetix analytics identifiers from this browser and stops future analytics collection unless you later opt in.

Terms, briefly

Project work runs under a written proposal: fixed price, fixed scope and staged payments, starting with a 10% deposit. Every new build includes a free hour of changes before launch. Hosting and care plans are rolling monthly, and leaving costs nothing — no exit fees, ever. Complaints go to a human at the email above; the legal jurisdiction is England & Wales. The full version is on our terms page.
